I managed with the help of this site to remove the plastics the gas tank and the head and cylinder sleeve. Also took out the piston and wrist pin. what do i need to do to fix. When i move the kick stand the rod moves up and down quite smoothly but im sure there are pieces of piston down there thanks in advance. also im not a real good mechanic can i repair this myself and how much

the best way is to split the cases, but thats no easy job for someone new.. a way ive done before is flipp the bike upside down and use an air compressor to blow all the pieces out, again its not the best way but ive done it before a few times and never had any pieces stay in there

wow very interesting. thanks for the quick reply so basically if i can get all the pieces out i would just really have to do a fresh top end only.

yeah, as long as the lower rod bearing is ok. its easy to check, if it has up and down play it needs replaced, if its tight up and down your good to go, its soposed to move side to side

you will need to split your cases ,even a small piece of piston skirt debris will cause this to happen again only one way to be sure its totally clean .obviously youll need a a new piston and most likely a fresh bore job

ya i works good i did that with the lt230 i have a couple years back worked great

i highly recommend splitting the cases to save a few bucks, one of those peices could be elft stuck i nthere and when you get it running could blow your motor.
