shattered piston skirt?????

ok so i was riding and my blaster died,towed it home and tore it apert,and found the broken pieces every where,what can i do to see if the crank is ok or is it just the bearings,resisting to spin freeely in some spots when turned over,PLEASEEEEE PM ME

ei ei ei. not fun. your probably looking at splitting the bottom end, replacing the main bearings and possibly the crank if the main bearings gone. or if its an aftermarket crank, possibly get it rebuilt with a new bearing.

so for sure split the casses to clean them out and check the main bearings.

true,you gonna have to split em and check everything carefully,hopefully you odnt have to replace much, but if its how i think its gonna have to be rebuilt,i hate bottom end,so complicated

hmm i didnt no they were that badd, looks like i better find 1 for my vitos 240 bbk .. denny you no of any good sites where i can buy a forged piston for my 240 kit?..

If there are tons of small pieces, you're going to want to clean the crank for peace of mind (ie, split the cases). It's not that bad if you have a shop manual in front of you, label where everything came from, and take your time doing it.

If it didn't shatter, and only cracked and maybe one piece is in there, you could try fishing it out, putting it back together, and praying......
