I scored BIG this weekend. My wife has a new ride now that I brought this home:
Picked 'er up for $ 500.00 cash! I need to rebuild the carb, replace the choke cable, and fix a couple other small issues, but overall its in good shape. 1998 Polaris Trailboss 250, 2-stroke of course.
Funny thing was, this used to be my quad, so I have a pretty good idea of what kind of shape it is in. I bought it in Texas for my wife to ride when we first met. Then, after moving to NC, we had to sell it to pay some bills. I sold it to one of my friend's dads, and figured it was gone forever. But he soon had an inexperienced mechanic try to tighten the chain, only to damage the sprocket, so the quad got parked for about a year. Then I heard he wanted to sell it, so I got in touch, made an offer....and he took it! Glad to have it back in the family.
Then, this morning, I walked into the locally-owned auto parts store to get a new battery for my wife's truck. I walked out with her battery, plus a lightly-used, $ 200.00 + Optima yellow-top battery.... for $ 30.00! It has almost 1,200 cranking amps, 900 cold cranking amps, and was tested and passed with no problem.
So yeah, its been a great weekend. B)
