I have a samsung mesmerize (it's the same thing on a different carrier). I really like it, it's my first smart phone, and has done me pretty well.

MOTO DROID rooted here and it rocks!

Root it theyre so much better/fun rooted.Especially overclocked they load so fast its not even funny i blink and whatever i clicked on is loaded.Battery life suffers a bit but WTF cares.LOL
