i have 2 questions, how much power is lost running rich im 2 jets down from sputtering and fowling plugs (300 main is what im at)

also i installed my v-force 3 reeds and they have no air leaks and work great but my question is, i used the orange permatex gasket sealer on the gaskets for the reeds and im wondering will it hold up well? it says its 650 degrees heat resistant but not recomended for use in parts in contact with gasoline.

remember, you're not racing, keep that jetting on the safe side

and although the hi-temp copper perma gasket i use on my reeds isn't rated for fuel contact, the vf3 reeds i just sold showed no signs of fuel related deterioration to it. a very very small bead was even sticking into the intake area and still looked ok to me.

If you are running a #300 with your mods in cooler weather you should be on the borderline of too lean.

FMF = #260
Filter = #270 maybe one more.
Lid removed = #290
32:1 = #300
Cold weather = #310 or one more.

I would be looking at a #320 or bigger and plug chopping to make sure.

The power lost by running 2 sizes richer than optium will fit on the head of a pin, but could save you a bucketfull of money.

I run 2 sizes up, a 25:1 bean oil mix and do not foul plugs.

Yes it does sputter some when it is cool, but once warmed fully up it pulls exceptionally well.

i think the 300 is ok, i will plug chop to make sure but when i had in a 320 it wouldint even barely start it was fowling plugs all over the place,

What oil do you use, I run rich with a heavy oil mix and have yet to foul a plug in 55 years of riding.

Are you using a b8es spark plug.

Are you loosing tranny oil?

Interesting!

Even when my youngest Daughter takes mine for a Granny ride the plug does not foul.

Are the electrics in good condition and is the spark crisp and bright blue.
