When I bought my Blaster the guy got it all setup for racing. It has very low compression (around 80 psi) and he said he disconnected the rev limiter. I need to bore out and put in a new piston, and do not want to blow the engine being I am not going to be racing that competitively.

He pointed out 2 white connectors, one of which being this one above the carb:

And said if I replug them back in I will have a rev limiter again and wont have to wrory about overrevving and blowing the engine.

This has the tors out, Motion pro twist, and idle kit.

Is this true? How can I stay on the safe side?
Thanks

i have never herd of a blaster havening a rev limiter but i could be rong..
i think the connector above the carb is part of the TORS ...

there is no rev limiter that is the tors connector.in a sense i suppose u could call that a rev limiter since it will kill the spark to your bike if your throttle sticks..other than that i would not put it the tors back on they suck

The tors will not keep it from overreving.

It is there if the slide stays open only after the thumb throttle is released in the resting postition, it will kill the motor. There are 2 switches, one in the throttle and one in the carb. If they are not in the same position at the same time it sends a signal to the CDI to stop spark.

yep.. no such thing as a rev limiter.. obviously the guy who sold it to you didnt understand what he was saying
