k so i can only start my blaster when i usesarting fluid, and even when it starts it wont idle by itself and shuts off within 45 seconds. my dad said something about the stator and magneto but idk if he is right. can anyone help?

it sounds to me like your engines starving for fuel and be careful with the starting fluid that will blow ur motor up... but yea it sounds like the fuel isnt getting to ur motor so check that out 1st

That is correct dont keep pumping starting fluid in there. Sounds like it will run off of the starting fluid and once that burns up its done. as stated before clean your carb, check to see if you have gas flow out of the tank. the petcock or the fuel line could also be clogged.

AH!!!!!!
yes, no starting fluid in a 2 stroke! its to be used sparingly on cold four strokes.
that said, sometimes this can be caused by low compression.
for example: the fuel molecules will seep past the rings, the remainder is spread about, then when it sparks, there is little to no explosion. starting fluid, being incredibly flammable will ignite at the mention of any spark. so first things first, check your compression.

KI*CK this guy^^^,to answer your ? clean the carb and chechk the reeds

hey buddy, im pretty sure i knew what i was talking about when i answered, your answer means nothing, if starting fluid is able to get through the carb through the air filter, gas should be able to get through directly, clean the carb means nothing. but were off topic here, we should discuss this elsewhere.

so i cleaned the carb and still nothing. how would a check the compression?? i just want this thing to start already

your going to need to get a compression tester. you can buy one or most auto parts store will loan out tools. Anything under 90 psi and its time for a rebuild

yes, what he said, but for a ballpark estimate take out the spark plug, stick your thumb over the hole (do not touch the plug or wire while doing this!) and have someone kick the bike over, if air seeps past your thumb because you cant hold on tight enough, its most likely not compression, but if it doesnt, your compresssion is definitely low.

I agree, same problem mine had when i bought it, and i rebuilt the carb and went through all that happy sh*t, then finally one day i was messin around and checked compression, only had 60 lbs!! what a biotch!! CHECK COMPRESSION FIRST, but still good to clean carb and all anyways! And anything over 100 is good, 90 will work, anything lower, means rebuild!

yeah you usually want your comp to be around 120-135, that is perfect, but nothing is perfect, so over 100 is good, go to auto zone or napa, they will lend you a comp tester

so i finally got it running!! its been so long since it started. its been a year cuz my dad kept saying it was the magneto and that he would buy one then i ended up forgetting about it. but the reason it wouldnt start is because the carb was dirty the plug was junk and before it stopped working i had a guy replace the piston and he never put the head back on right!!!! the bolts were finger tight! so im pretty happy its running now
