Hi All, my usual engine builder is sick, and so I was forced to use another guy - my cylinder has been bored to 66.5mm, and I have now got it back. My piston supplier informs me that the machinist should have bored the cylinder against the purchased piston, I ran this past the machinist who dismissed this and said any 66.5mm wiseco will fit - he bored it without the piston. Before I reassemble, should I have it checked for clearances, or am I overthinking it? I don't want her to seize up while running in!

Ya, you need to get the bore and piston measured. While the piston will be within "tolerance" it still needs to be in tolerance to the bore, even if it's only .0005" If you have that much extra clearance it will be fine, the problem would be if clearance is too little.
Ring end gap needs to be checked no matter what. Tho out of all I have done recently, only one ring needed a hit with a file.

Sounds crazy, but wash the jug with soap and water until a clean white rag or paper towel comes out clean when you wipe it. Imediatly after drying wipe the steel surfaces with oiled rag or paper towel.
