ok so my blaster has low compression and hasnt been rebuilt in a little over a year (thats what the guy who sold it to me said) and im not gonna pay a shop to do it. my question is can i just get a stock piston of the same size, new rings, and new gaskets or does it need to be bored? i have no idea what i am doing when it comes to this. also, what does a rebuild consist of? may i only need new rings?

get it bored .10 over, and use a stock or wiseco piston. a rebuild consists of new piston, rings, and gaskets... save money and do it your self

do it once...do it right...to be on the safe side get it bored...most shops will do it for $45-60...and alot of place sell the kit cheap

yep, that $60 you save by just throwin a piston/ring set in yourself, without having it professionally checked out, will be a big waste when it fries again

I would have to say that if you have no idea what you are doing then you should get somebody in person to help you or pay somebody to do it. there isn't anything super difficult but the rings have to go in a certain way the piston could get put in backwards you need to know the torque specs and sequence. the first time you do it you should have somebody experienced helping you
