rear shock?

is it possible to mount the 400ex shock upside down? i have been told yes and no, so im still confused

Im putting one on right now and i would say no.But then again im not sure.Just cut your airbox and sand it down and make it look good>I have a filter skin on mine and i just moved it forward and it still covers the spot.I:I
