Hey all I havent been on the forum for a couple months now been tied up on house work. But I do have a question. I bought another blaster. 01. I bought a complete hydro set up from a local and swapped the fronts already but now working on the back. i got the 03 carrier on but now my question is the FRAME. it doesnt have a mount bracket to hold the master cylinder. How the hell do i do this? I think some one here actually makes them and sell them? was it awk? i forgot. left or top depending on ypur screen, is the 01 and right (bottom) is the 03. i dont have access to a weld so whats the easiest way to get this rear on and working?

The gsxr brackets he makes bolt on. He might be able to make you a bracket and then just let you drill the holes you need to bolt the mc onto the bracket.

The mounting braket is a bolt on. You may have to drill mounting hole for the brake cylinder itself. I don't know what you have setup for mounting to the peddle. You may want to buy one of them from awk to.

There is another problem. The cable pedal "pulls" a little drum which locks into the cable. The 03+ pedal pushes the clevis end on the master cylinder.

The pivot point on the 03+ pedal is much farther back to account for the increased leverage but decreased throw needed for a hydro master cylinder.

The best bet would be to have a master cylinder bracket made (either by awk or in the same way that awk makes those brackets) and source an 03+ right side foot peg assembly so the pedal is right. The GSXR setup gets away with it because it's a dual piston caliper and the mastercylinder needs to move farther anyway to pump that much fluid so you can "extend" a 88-02 pedal with a piece of metal out far enough to push up on the GSXR master cylinder and it works well.

yea i got the 03 petal too and with the MC, line caliper and carrier. i have everything on except the MC. i was gonna go buy like a metal plate and fab it on but im having a hard time master planing it out. all i have to do is get that MC on and bleed the sob. im sure awk will chime in soon

chiming,
heres a pic of my set-ups, but they are strictly for pre 02 stuff, but the bracket would work to mount the master, locating it, aligning it to the pedal would be on you, and i'm not so sure the way my master bracket mounts, that you'd be able to slide it down/forward far enuf to match up with that short ass pedal extension on the 03 peg/pedal combo ????
as for masters go, i have used every conceivable style and make of master cylinder with the gsxr calipers, they all work, my first set, now on my sons with my old frame has a banshee master (made for small single piston caliper)
and it works like a champ, as it has for 3 years now, easily pushing all the fluid the gsxr dual piston can handle
last year i bought a box full of masters, about 6 different brands and makes, they all worked flawlessly except the few that need rebuilt
my suggestion would be to keep your pre 03 peg, and i can extend that pedal for you, and supply a master bracket,
or just a bracket and your on your own with the 03 pedal ????
unless you wanna ship the master and 03 peg/pedal to me and see what i can do with it ???
pm me if you decide i can help you
or use this pic to fab one yourself,
i use 3/16ths 6061 aluminum, it's strong and hard, and cuts nicely,
softer, thicker aluminum is hard to cut and bend

thanks for the input awk. it seems like alotta work for me. its a 01 and i bought a complete front and rear hydro setup off a 05. ive got everything on besides that rear MC. i even got the 03 petal but idk where to finish this project at its been sitting under a tarp in my yard for more than a month now lol. i could make the bracket like u suggested but i wouldnt know how to bend it and cut it etc i dont i even have the right tools for that o_O dremel? pm me what the price would be if i send it to u
