question about vf3 reed cage

hi guys, i have a question about the vf3 reed valve system i just bought. thier is two pieces with the kit on is the reed cage and reeds, but the other piece looks like it fits in the carb side of the reed cage. i have a 35mm pwk keihin carb and was wondering if that piece needed to be in the reed cage or not. i believe it is a custom air guide but i dont know if i need it in their or not.

its your retainer plate and yes it needs to be in there. Its what holds the reeds together

which way does it fit? it can fit two diff ways. one way the hole is angled to the right and the other to the left. or does depend on the intake manifold

It will only fit ONE way, it must angle INTO the manifold.
