Quad stuck in first gear please help.

Hello i have a 2004 yamaha 200 Blaster and i was riding earlier and muding etc and i did use the clutch every time i shifted. And then i rode back to my house. and then tride shifting down but i couldnt so i tried shifting up and i cannot. I turn off the quad and try shifting same thing i try rocking it and shifting and it will not work but when i start up my quad i can ride in first gear but thats the only gear i can ride on and i cannot shift so please help me or tell me anything you think can be wrong and some suggestions you may have thanks.

sounds like the shifter has snapped happened to me like a week ago
think youll have to see a mechanic

ya the star comes loose from the shaft, but i thought on newer blastys it was welded on....

Can you move the shifter or is it locked tight?

Like i can wiggle the shifter but i cant like push down or up with it, wont budge but i can wiggle the shifter. but yea i cant shift up or down.

yeah that was the same with me i dont know if your mechanically minded and could take your engine apart to see it but i got my mechanic to fix it for me so i guess that would be your best bet

So what did he have to do like take the whole engine apart? or just the gear box side?

Well nvm no worries i have the place i purchased my quad from to come pick it up and repair it Hopefully it wont take a long time XD

i would pull the clutch cover off and take a peep.the star might of just came a little loose,u might be lucky.

The mechanic said it could be simple fix or somethings really bad but i should be good cause if my bottom end is messed up theres some on ebay for a reasonable price.
