Is there any way to get my powerband to kick in closer to the bottom end? It kicks in close to the end of each gear, and catches me off guard. It would be great if I was looking for speed, but I want a more tourqy bottom end for more powerful take off from each gear, instead of right as i'm reaching the end of my gear and about to shift, it stands straight up lol. God I never realized how fun owning this thing would be. Best purchase I've ever made.

What mods have you.

A DMC Alien pipe, will give lower rev entry into the powerband.

A reed spacer block between the reeds and jug should help some.

A +4 timing advance will also move the powerband down.

If the powerband is as you state at the end of the gear, maybe, just maybe, you are not wringing enough revs out of the motor before you change.

Do an experiment and wring as many revs out of it, when the motor slacks off, or stops producing power, take note of that point.

You should be changing just before the power slacks off.

If you have been used to 4 pokes, swapping to a 2 stroke takes a little practice because the 2 stroke sounds like it is revving far too high.

Quite hard to explain, but give it the gas and if it is still pulling, clench your teeth and give it more, and just before the powerband cuts off change gear..

Wait until you get into the magic of stroker cranks, big bore kits, and high end pipes. They get crazy expensive (but a lot more fun too!)

As of now, I've just got an fmf fatty pipe and power core 2 silencer, I just ordered boysen super stock reeds, k&n air filter with holes in the air box. Other than that, I believe it's pretty much stock. I'm not sure if it's been bored over or not

When it stops pulling through the RPMs, then shift. A two stroke always feels/sounds bizy because it's just starting to make power at about the same RPMs that your KIA is maxed out, a Blaster can safely rev to 8- 8500 rpm. Plus you're getting 10x the vibs of your Vstar.

I'll give it a shot, right now i'm in the process of painting the wheels and plastics while I wait for my new reeds to arrive, once they are in, I plan on riding the hell out of it til I figure it all out.
