Power band issue/ air leak?

Not sure what's going on with the Blaster or if I'm just going crazy but I had it out for a ride today and it seems as though I have a problem.

It seems like the power band ( or gears all together) has significantly shortened, it's jumping up into high RPMs very quickly whereas the power band used to be longer.

Also one or two times when shifting into 5th it seemed to rev up pretty high then drop back down before once again hitting the band and revving high.

Is this a potential air leak or something else? I do not have a leak down, I'll be getting one when I get some cash ( root canal just wiped me out completely...there goes the porting) so I'm just trying to solicit some opinions for now.

I'm bored .40 over, fmf fatty, holes in air box, 280 main.

Only change I've recently made was changed out the oil...possibly added too much and blew a seal someplace?

Compression is on the low side also, last I checked it was around 110 but that was a while ago, I have no idea where my compression tester went to, may need to buy another.

I'll try to do a plug chop tomorrow and let you guys know how to comes out.

So...signs of an air leak, signs that its time for a rebuild ( which is past due anyway), or something else?

Thanks for the help.

Edit: Air filter IS dirty, my cage screw is stripped so I can't get it out ( without pulling off the intake boot) to clean it, got a new one on the way.

could be many things, def clean the filter and the carb, and look at the plug, hard to say just off that info

My nephews blaster was acting funny come to find out a reed was cracked.could be need a carb cleaning as u say goes then dont.if was a air leak like mine was had a slight ping on wot in 5th 6th gear.idk just throwing few ideas out there.also probley wouldnt be a bad idea to replace topend if rnning low ob compression before u really screw up cylinder just my 2 cents.better safe than sorry
