Poor midrange and decel.

So I got the blaster running pretty well. Idles nice and revs out well. The only thing is it runs kinda choppy at about mid throttle when I hold it there, like when I'm just putting down the road real slow like. If I hit it and rev through it, it seems fine. It almost has the same choppy problem when I decel without pulling in the clutch. the motor kind of bucks a little bit and maybe diesels? It will do a quick crappy rev on it's own during decel....weird. Any ideas? Thanx.

did you richen the needle? that sounds like you are having issues with your midrange jetting. if you have not done it already i would move the needle clip down maybe one position or possibly two depending on if it is doing a lean or rich bog.

yes i do think it is. is the needle clip in the stock position? on my blaster when i added an aftermarket exhaust i richened all the circuits-- +1 pilot jet, lowered needle clip by one position, and put in a bigger main jet. i did all of this from research and recommendations from local engine builders. i was told that many people forget to richen the the other circuits when they modify their engines and the blaster tends to have a lean spot in the mid-range. it is a habit now that when i make a change to a stock engine i check all of the circuits to see if the jetting needs have changed.

This is a stock blaster, well, it's got an FMF silencer, stock pipe, TwinAir filter, no airbox cover....etc.

I wanted to get a larger pilot but the only place that had one near me only had a stock pilot...I guess I'll order a bigger one. I've got a 250 main in it and yes, the needle is in the stock position. I checked the plug while I was doing a breaking (just did new rings) and it was rich, but that was when I was sitting it and letting it idle for extended periods of time, and then just riding it around without going over 1/2 throttle. Maybe I'll check again! Thanx

IMO you are lean in your pilot jet to better it get a larger size or move your needle clip to position 3or even 4 but test both and see wich one is the best. also make sure that your air screw did not move and make sure it is at 1&1/2 turns out.
