Absolutely DO NOT USE a whire wheel. It will do nothing but scratch it.Use fine grit steel wool or if need be fine grit sandpaper 600 grit and up.

If you want the pipe to really shine and stay that way, get it chromed. I'll run you about a $100 but its well worth it, imo. As far as the silencer, mothers works pretty good but you need to stay on top of it to keep it looking good

fmf pipes are nickle plated and their is not much that you can do to it but to use a little polish something less agressive than mothers, followed up by some wax and keep up on it for maint. as for the silencer for those who dont have access to proper polishing equipment, mothers with 000 steel wool will cut the finish fairly well and than use strait mothers with a clean dry towlto finish, again wav to help maintain the finish because it will oxadise. hope this helps?

I have not tryed it yet but I wonder if polishing the using some pre or other pre paint cleaner to get the polishing wax off then painting with high heat clear. You would need latex gloves and a clean soft cloth to make sure there's finger prints or smuges before you clear caption it.

i have had success with a customer that is in the hi tech powder coating industry use a water based air dry high build clear coat on aluminum parts like atv heads, juggs, and cases with verry good results but not sure about the exhaust. chrome it make sure your jetting is right and run race gas seems to be the best advice for keeping the pipe looking like new
