I have only used NGK plugs, but for a plug chop would it make a difference to use a different brand of plug?

well you could, but you would have to make sure you get the right heat range. I know Champion uses the heat scale of 1-9 in reverse from what NGK uses, so be careful.

What brand do you have in mind?

I was thinking the champion. I can get them for pretty cheap. Specially since I'm only going to be cutting them up any ways. I found a link for alternative plugs for the b8es but there seems to be aloooot and i can't believe all these plugs would be the same heat range I'm going to look into them more. I'll post the link so yous can see. I don't recommend using any of these plugs on the link other than the recommended b8es. Notice it says "POSSIBLE" and its not stating heat range only size..

NGK B8ES - Alternative spark plugs

Me personally I would chop the Ngk only cuz the way I see it I would want to chop the exact set up I would be running everyday.

I do understand ur point and a plug may be a plug but for peice of mind I personally think using the plug I would be running, to chop, would make the most sense to me.

May not matter 1 bit to use another one but I live by the better safe then sorry motto.

If you can buy a bucketload of cheap plugs in the right heat, do it!
Play and experiment with the cheap plugs, then do one final plug chop with the plug you plan to use to verify the jetting.

Heat range shows up in the body of the insulator, mixture is down at the base.
