looks a little lean, jump up one more size and try again

I know every bike is slightly different, but I don't understand this. FMF recommends a 260 with their pipe. I ride at sea level and found the sweet spot to be 270 with the lid off. How could somebody be running the same setup higher in elevation with a 330??? IMO that's way to rich and I would suggest a leak test.

agreed, good catch
I looked at the pics and missed the 310 main already

Yea... I have the exact same mods, and posted a pic much richer at a 230# main...

I hope you don't have the same exact mods as OP with a 230 main! You need to have at least a 260 in there. If you have an aftermarket pipe and a 230 main it's only a matter of time before it blows up.

No it has not been leak tested since it came back from the Yamaha dealership..I did notice a tear in the lip of my carb boot when installing the clamp..so I will buy a new one..I will also check the float again..would anyone be interested in selling a leak tester or make me one for some extra bucks?pm me if interested please

here is the carb boot i was talking about..notice near the top where the screw on the clamp is.there is part of the outter lip missing..could that be part of this?im still looking to buy a leak tester from someone.will pay also if someone makes one

You never posted the pic of the boot. If you noticed a tear you need to replace it. There is a thread lurking around on how to make a leak tester.

ok this morning my friend came over and looked it over and found the front left(on choke side) base nut wasnt torqued properly..so he did that for me..then he hooked his leak tester up and no leaks..he tried to tell me that the plug chop i did was not long enough to show full color.that the really dark spot on the plug would be almost all the way around if i did a longer run.my plug chop was only about a hundred yard wot

I sure hope that he loosened all the nuts and re tensioned them diagonally and incrementally, otherwise you may have a lug pop off!

100 yards is prolly not quite long enough, try again and hold on the brakes to make the motor pull hard.

When WOT apply the brakes to make the motor work hard.

It is not so much the amount of time you need WOT but the amount hard work the motor has to do to produce a good smoke ring.

It is possible to do a run in 4th or 5th gear as long as the motor pulls very hard, up hill and with the brakes on is great.
