hey guys i have a 1999 yamaha blaster that i got and the first weekend riding it i blew the piston into pieces.

i sent the jug out to get bored and purchased a new piston kit, new reeds, chain, exhaust and wanted to make everything nice and good to go...

after installing everything and staring the bike it would run fine then 5 minutes into riding it would rev high and just keep going and not stop. even if i kill the bike and just come to a stop it still just revs out

after getting it back to my house it just wont start..

i have a small break in the case under the motor where the crank spins around dripping oil/fuel..
im guessing that happened when my picton blew apart and i didnt even notice..

before noticing that and trying to start the bike everyway possible i get like a grinding metal sound coming from the engine as i try to kick over the bike

im from long island newyork and dont even know if there is a place around me that would rebuild it or even looking into

i dont know if i should try buying a new case and rebuilding the bottom end or just buy a used one..

hopefully somebody can defiantly pinpoint the problem and point me in the right direction

thank you

joe

You dropped a piston skirt, and there is a lump still flogging around in the case or the bearings sill have some chards of aluminium in them,

Do not kick the motor over any more, you may do more damage!

PM this guy. he should be able to assist with case repair/replacment.

What you have is a vacuum leak from the piston skirt breaking off and damaging the cases. I'm sure you need seals, a connecting rod, and bearings as well. All repairable in most cases. Call if you need help.
