i was thinking of painting my wheels and possibly the frame.
is there any cheap way of doing this. what types of paint and a walkthrough on the best way i could do it?

honestly.. i painted my front with regular duplicolor black acrillic enamal.. holding up pretty good1... also painted my front a arms with it.. just clean them up and scuff them with a scotch bright pad and the paint will hold

painting rims? - Raptor Forums: Yamaha Raptor Forums

if you scroll down about half way there's a guy that just used some sray enamal from walmart, his look pritty good and he swears that he has never had to recoat them. if i use the rim paint in my first post before you get around to painting your rims i'll let you know how it comes out.

i painted my G'F's frame with some silver rustoleum hammered metal paint, i brushed it on and it came out great. the hammered metal affect does a great job of hideing any imperfections, like high/low spots, in the metal or old paint. so far it has held up really well, and it's great because you can paint right over suface rust.

if you have the money, and you don't mind tearing your hole bike apart, powder coating is the best option, but these are some good cheap alternative.

Get some bug and tar remove stuff to get all the dirt and grime off. Wash it off then start sanding them down, you dont have to go down to bare metal but just scuff them up. But 2-3 coats of primer on them, then 4-5 coats of the color than 3-4 coats of clear and they will be good to to go. I did it on my brothers old kfx and it help up good. Make sure you do it in warm weather, and dont rush! Take your time and they will look great

I just got done painting my frame, I went to advanced auto and bought cans of aircraft stripper(works very well) to strip off the 3 old layers of paint. then bought cans of truck bed liner spray paint. the nice thing about the liner its paintable if you dont like black, no need for primer, and its around 10.00 a can. Also it looks great.
