today i bought a 03 blaster well it was not runnin that good so i started tuning on it a little and got it running ok and then it made a loud ping sound and died out... i thought maybe it fell in gear and killed out but it didn't...
ok i fired it up again made sure it was in neutral and started to let out on the clutch and it died... so i confirmed it as in neutral by pushing it... and then i fired it back up and let out the clutch and it died again... so i got worried then... and i looked on the floor and there was oil on the floor... so i turned off the fuel and layed it on its side to look at where the oil was coming from and there was a crack in the bottom of th block... right at the seam where the two halves meet... what could have caused this??? and how much do yall think it will cost to get back up and going??? and where is the oil tank located??? i think it is took off and made to used premix not sure tho... any help is greatly appreciated...

that sounds pretty bad, youll probably half to get two new case halves and pretty much rebuild the bottom end, the cases r pretty cheap on ebay, and might as well throw in new crank bearings and seals while its split, theres plenty of help here if your not sure about something

no, it sounds like you simply blew out a case half gasket. nothing serious. unless one of the cases is cracked or something. that is transmission fluid you are seeing. so just split your cases and throw on a new gasket if they look ok.
its easy

well i figured if i get the internals fixed i can do what i done on my old 300 honda and jb weld the crack back up... inside and out...but i kinda want to know what to look for on the inside... btw forgot to tell you all with it in neutral and not holding the clutch it is like it was locked up but you pull the clutch in and it will fire up that stopped tho now you can start it with the clutch in or out... kinda like now you can let out on the clutch and it will still run... you can pu it in gear and ride it to it is just really really weak... and i am afaid to ruin the motor by riding it...

and the case is cracked only the left side tho... and by left side i mean left side if you were sitting on it... and nice bikes you guys got...

that same thing happened to my bro in laws but his actually got stuck in first and when he moved it from 1st to neutral back to first to try and free it up thats when it happened his was a tooth from the output shaft gears snapped off and finaly got pushed through the tranny and out the bottom of the case its realy not that bad and u may be able to have the hole welded up instead of buyin new case halfs but its most likely gonna need the trans gears or maybe ive heard that the shift fork pins come out and do the same thing u wont know till u tear it apart good luck

blaster's don't use a gasket to seal the case halves. You have to use something like yamabond to seal the two cases together

oh, yeah, the yz's are like that too, i think.
either way, you are silly if you jb weld your cases together
