Well, I had a 2006 blaster about a year ago. Then, I traded it for an rm125. Now I think Im catching the itch for the blaster again.

I found one on craigslist for $400. The problem is it needs an oil seal where the sprocket for the chain is. I wanted to know if this was a pain to fix. Do I need to split the cases? If I did fix this problem would I be able to make a profit If I ever sold it?

Thanks for any answers!

that is really easy to do no case splitting to do. just remove the drive gear, drill a small hole in the center of the seal(not near the edges) it is only a quarter of an inch thick so don't drill deep or you will damage the bearing behind it. thread a machine screw (with a screw driver not a drill) into the seal and pull it out with pliers. this might take a few tries and a few holes to get it right. no pointed screws too easy to mess up. then fill the lip of the new seal with grease and install it using a socket or pipe roughly the same size as the outside of the seal. don't put grease where the seal contacts the motor. you want that dry. oh yeah drain your trans oil first. Easy peasy japaneasy

Thanks for responding! I was starting to think no one was going to reply. Looks like Im gettin' myself another blaster.

You don't have to drill any holes. Take a flat head screwdriver an pry the I.D. of the seal until the bottom pops out and then pull it out. Use electrical tape to tape the around the sprocket shaft. Oil all surfaces of the seal with 2 stroke oil and use a socket and a rubber mallet to tap the seal into place. Make sure the seal is seated properly and securely and voila! Your done.

one thing id do, is just clean up the entire area before you remove any seals. a nice clean work area does wonders and diminishes the chance of you pushing in grease and crud into the motor upon reassembly.
