oil pump shaft? what is it held in by on the cluctch casing?

hi guys,
im about to take the plastic gear off behind the clutch casing.
can i leave the shaft in. is it held in by anything?

the gear is held on by a little pin, if i remember right,
the shaft is connected to the pump, you can remove the gear and put the pump back on as a block off,

it's actually held in by two c-clips. the pin goes inside the gear to turn it.

yeah sumthin like that, but if he cant figure that out after pulling the cover, he has no business being in there to begin with

so if i remove the gear can i leave the shaft in ? and just put the oil pump back on as a block off? and then the shaft wont turn,

yes, the shaft is connected to, and part of the pump itself, not a seperate part like you keep making it sound, just open her up, then come with questions
