Hi there.. My first post on behalf of my friend who has a
2000 Yamaha Blaster 200.
Apparently awhile ago he noticed a little bit of oil beginning to leak out of a hose (pics will be attached). Now every time he revs the engine a bunch of oil comes out there and leaks onto the exhaust and causes very pungent white smoke. Anyhow, I don't have a quad myself but maintain cars. I looked up how much oil to put in and it said 1.37 US quarts. Is this the correct amount? I was also wondering if
a.) the hose that is shown is a breather hose
b.)is the hose supposed to be attached to anything
c.) if anything goes on the hose
d.)what the hell is that hose??

Thanks for reading this very sloppy post. My hands are tired from typing all day :p

No no, 650 ml no more, no less. It is the crankcase breather just ends up near the handle bars. Its probably leaking because you have too much oil in there. Needs to be oil approved for wet clutches

1. there lies your problem, 1.37 us quarts is almost twice as much required, and the clutch/trans is building pressure and blowing it out the vent hose < (answer to A)
the proper amount is 650 ML(mililiters) slightly less than 3/4 quart, as stamped right on the cases in front of that hose, you can even see it in the pic you posted...................

b. no, the hose hangs to open air under the hood where you show it
c. no
d. vent hose

Ok, thanks everyone. That was what I thought it was. I don't actually own the quad so I have no idea where and what everything is.
