No spark

First off, it feels good to have another blaster in the garage. I regretted getting rid of the one I had and have tried to get another one for around a year or so and finally succeeded. anyway, i picked this one up the other day and the guy told me it needed a new cdi box. I figured it might have been the tors so I unplugged it. I then looked down and saw that the plug wire was cut and the wires were sticking out of the end of it. Should it still spark with a cut plug wire? I really look forward to getting this thing going

Is the wiring just exposed? Or is it cut off or damaged? If its cut or there's some exposed wires not conecting then I'd think that would be your problem right there.

the wire is completely hacked off i kicked it over and put my fingers on the wires and didn't feel a thing (I know not smart but I don't have a multimeter handy)

If the PO said that it needed a new CDI then there may be no high tension voltage on the plug wire.

There is no way tO test the CDI.

I would also check the stator and ignition coil just to be sure.

so I could just possibly need to get a new coil and plug wire?

If the CDI is cactus you will need a new one as well as a coil and wire.
