so i was cruising down the road and after the power band in 4th 5th and 6th gear there is no power, i give it more gas and it doesn't go any faster, it just falls on its face and boggs, i advanced the timing 4 degrees but i sheared the fly wheel key from a back fire so its only at about 2 degrees now, could the timing advance have to do with it?

aww not what i was hoping to hear, is the 240 kit worth it or should i get just a new bore over and some other parts for the price of a 240?

Advancing timing usually just moves the power band on an engine into a lower rpm range - it does loose a little bit up top, but I don't know if it is noticeable on the Blaster engine. Is it falling off a lot up top?

yeah after the power band, even when im on the road and let the thing rev up it just stops reving higher and sound like its bogging out a little, my mixture isnt too rich but after a short haul down the road it does smoke a bit when i slow down, could this all just be a mixture problem?, and can i go ahead and put it back to 4 degree timing? being bone stock

hmmm, your blaster is bone stock... idk if you should go all the way to +4.. maybe keep a lower timing advance (+2...+3?)

until you get a little bit more work done, and you should just get a compression check done as a precaution, because you may have low compression, if you do, bore it slightly and rebuild it (unless you are willing to fork over the money don't go with a 240 kit quite yet, maybe next rebuild, or whenever you feel like...its up to you) but, check your compression, and post back to let us know, and we can probably better help you from there, if you know you are blown, and don't wanna go 240 kit, just go and get a wiseco piston, and get a +3mm stroker (or +4 hotrod if you wanna grind a little bit away to make it fit)

hope this was a bit of a help man... good luck..post back to tell us whats up

okay, well, i guess it probably wouldn't hurt you to go back to 4 if you wanted to...

but just get back to me on the compression check etc.

i dont have compression tester and i need a new bore cause when i had the cylinder off for the port and polish i did, i noticed that the cylinder had been worn from the rings and started a groove from the rings, so im guessing my compression is mostly gone, should i do the vito 240 sleeve and piston kit?, or just do a large bore over like .080?, thx for all the help, i appreciate it
