No power hesitates

I just got a 2000 blaster. It buggs down until it gets into the higher rpm's. Then it will take off. But at lower speeds it hesitate's before going? Thanks for any suggestions

try a new plug, is the quad smoking alot, are you premixing your fuel, check the reeds to see if they are damaged

It smokes but not that bad. How do you check the reeds? Newbie

pull the carb off, or out of the way by disconnecting the intake tube, then take the 4 10mm bolts out off each corner of the intake on the head, and pull the reed cage out.

is it all stock? do a compression test, because if its stock its probally got low compression by now!! mines and 01 and has already had 2 new top ends!!!

Thanks for all the help.. Changed the spark plug and help a great deal. I will work on the rest when I get a chance. Was wondering if the card needs to be cleaned? Thanks myra

not hard to do and can't hurt, so next time u get bored i would tear it down and clean it just for the heck of it if nothing else. can be a learning experience too

Took it into shop and needs a new top end.Yea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
