What happened was...I just had this thing rebuilt and today was about the second hour into my break in....i was riding it about an hour and i could notice that each time i started it back up it took longer and more kicks to start....now there is like no compression on the kick....i mean u have to put some strentgh to it but not like how it should be....i checked the plug and its fine...im taking it back monday to the shop but does anyone have any other kind of suggestion???

Im not gonna take it apart.....thanks anyway but i was just wonderin if it was like a stupid or simple thing like tightening the cylinder or somthin....im takin back to the shop monday so if u guys dont have any simple ideas that it could be then just let me know and ill just go wit the plan of bringing it back monday

I think there is your problem. You're on the second hour of break in, and were riding for an hour. You're supposed to ride for 15 mins, and then let it cool for at least 30 mins in cycles about 5 or 6 times before taking prolonged rides. Most likely the rings or the bore was damaged. Below is a link to how it should be done properly.

Honestly if there is no compression it pretty much is one of the following: damaged piston rings and/or bore, leaking head gasket or bottom cylinder gasket, or perhaps something cracked which I really doubt. I would lean towards the damaged rings.

It better not be anything other then the gaskets, un -tight head or cylinder or the rings cause i aint got no money left if it was the rings could that have f*cked the cylinder atall plus wouldn't have i heard something ????

Well if the rings went it can damage the piston or the cylinder in the worst case scenario. Since you're not hearing any noise it might just be a leaking gasket, tho leaking rings wouldn't make noise either(unless it broke up).

man if i was u i would take it apart and check it out for myself ... last year i had my 250ex rebuilt and the same thing happened.... i rode it for about 5 hours and little by little it started to run worst until it stopped runnin all togother... i did everthing i could to see what was wrong with it ... it had great spark, i cleaned the carb, and air filter till they were almost shiny and still i couldn't get it runnin. i decided to check my compression and i had 45 psi ... i took it apart to see what was wrong with it and the piston, and cylinder walls were scorched ....i took it to the shop that rebuilt it and they said that i didn't put enough oil on it and that that was the reason why the piston and cylinder walls were scorched... what really happened was that they bored it one size over and they put a stock piston on it, but of course they blamed it on me so that they wouldn't have to rebuild it again ... i was so pissed but oh well, i took it and rebuilt it myself and know it's running like a champ. u might wanna check it before taking it up there, dont get f*cked over like i did, i had no proof that they did it because by the time they told me, they had already thrown away the old piston so i couldn't do anything about it. u wanna see what it looked like , go to this link- MySpace.com - bruno powersports - Photo 16 of 26

It cant be that cause i premixed as well as used the oil injection just to be sure....he took care of everything on the break in besides doin it himself...and if i take it apart he'll think i know what i did or sumthn wrong....im gonna take it to him and say it wont start at all and the kick feels loose(make it sound like i have no idea what im talkin bout....think that'll work??

well, your first mistake is was taking her to a mechanic. never trust someone else to work on your machines.
if you're losing compression there are several places for it to leak: at the spark plug, base gasket, head gasket, carb boot, exhaust, piston rings and crank seals.
so go ahead and tighten up the head bolts, and base bolts and exhaust bolts and the intake bolts and hose clamps.
but most likely it'll be the rings, because if it were anything else, the bike would rev up real high at idle and have a lean plug reading.
also, you don't wanna premix AND use the injection. it's one or the other. if you do both then the oil ratio will be way too rich.
you're gonna have a hard time reading the plug to check the jetting because your oil is gonna f*ck up the reading.
you should check the plug reading at idle and at full throttle.

Ok....new theory...what is the metal tube that is part of the cases of the motor....on the end should there be a rubber plug??? Cause the guy at the shop didnt put that back in....does that lead into the cases??? Dirt def. got in there while i was at the track breaking it in.....Im f*ckin pissed!!!!!

Do you mean the little nipple on the clutch side of the engine? If so that is the case vent, which should have a hose connected to it for venting.

Tho even if dirt got in there you shouldn't loose compression as it's connected to the case and really has nothing to do with the piston.. Unless you really got a butt load of crap in there and magically it managed to get to the piston.

Did you go to the mechanic with it? If so what did he say?

I went there today but my mechanics day off was today so the guy who was there was sayin that if dirt got in the hole i would have seized like what happened to me before that made me rebuild in the first place....they dont know and wont until they take it apart again and it best be for free!!!!

Here a picture for ya guys to help me!!!!
