hey guys, been lurkin here for awhile and have gotten a lot of good ideas from you guys.
i've got a prob w/ my rear caliper and hope someone here can help me out.
i have an '06 w/ the hydro brakes. i was replacing the rear brake pads and had the damndest time getting the piston to compress enough to get the new meaty pads around the rotor. after some fiddling, i figured out that i needed to turn out the bolt opposite the piston that goes through the parking assy. so i turned it out, pushed in the piston and got the caliper mounted, then i totally over torqued and broke that bolt when i was retightening it.
so i went out and got a new bolt and installed it but still didn't have any resistance on the brake pedal. kept turning it in and turning it in till the parking brake assy just broke! came apart in my hands and fell to pieces. so i just took the whole assy off the caliper and now it's just the caliper w/ a silver rod sticking out of it. and still zero hyd pressure at the pedal.
i'm thinkin i might need to get the block off kit.....

Yes you will need a block off plate but sounds that you will also need to bleed your brakes also.

yeah, i never use the parking brake, just a waste of weight. so i'm kinda glad that i f*cked it up trying to get the brake to work!
anyhow, got the thing workin last night. i think what happened was one of those long air bubbles that sticks to the side of the hose. i've had it happen before on a TL1000 i was working on, so i figured i might as well try bleedin her again after a couple days. so 2 days got the bubble to work itself through the caliper and i got it to bleed out last night.

i don't have a parking brake either..lol i just leave it in gear B-)
