hey everyone im new to this blasterforum thing but looks like a pretty sweet site I just bought my blaster a couple of weeks ago and I love this bike everybody I ride with rides 4 stroke 300/400ex's kfx450r and suzuki z 400 and I keep up with them just fine in the woods if not better than them but I had a couple of problems with the chain throwing and have had two holes in the left crank case already but had them weilded up but when I went to stick my motor back in the frame the next morning I noticed oil all over it was coming from where the two cases come togather right were the bottom bolt goes to attach the moter to the frame so should I take this in to my dealer and have them put a new gasket in or what do you think the problem is it just seems to be leaking where the cases come together just in that one spot....just clueless but want the bike to be perfect well aleast not leak any oil.....but overall a kick ass fourwheeler!!!!

welcome to the forum. you got a nice looking blaster for your first machine. First I would figgure out why that chain keeps falling off??? Do you have the white chain gaurd near the rear sproket?? if you dont you need to get it.

second to find out where the oil is coming from clean the area really well then check and see if it is still leaking. if it is then yea, replace the gasket. Good luck.

There is no center gasket on the blaster engine. The cases seal with yamabond or something similiar. Your best bet would be to have the leak fixed

Welcome and enjoy! Have that leak fixed asap! what kind of mods does that machine got on it?

ummm...motor wise I dont know much about what has been all done to it the kid that had it before me raced flat track so he might of had some stuff done but i dont know but cosmetics it has race cut front fenders, pro taper bars,dg front bumper,dg nerf bars, pro circuit pipe so im guessing the carb has been jetted, after market A arms, I think 2" spacers, extended swing arm but not sure how much longer, 18" kenda klaw mxr's on back, pretty sure has weisco piston, custom lighting, uni air filter, oilblock off kit,dg grab bar...but anyways thats all I can think of right now thats done to it

no I dont think that rear guard is there that you are talking about, but will my local motorcycle cycle shop be able to fix where the oil is leaking from where the cases come togather with that yamabond or whatever it is... I could always try jb weild but that probally be stupid if i ever needed to split those cases in the future...dont really know what do you guys think

um jb weld could be a quick fix, but you will have to get it dont sometime. remeber they are going to have to split the cases and if you are going to do that why not throw a stroker crank or something in there.

also that rear chain guide is a must have, and a bigger must have if you have an extended swing arm. my got eaten threw and i never thought anything of it untill my chain kept falling off. i put on a new guide and it has yet to fall off.

ok well someone posted above that it is a white guard or are you talking about that white guide wheel deal on the left side where the swing arm motor bolt runs through I know the chain rolls over this...not sure if thats it or not

no problem they are cool cause they will ship parts to you as well even thou it is just the Yamah Dealership around me. you can find the part on ebay to for maybe a little cheaper. so you dont have a chain guide your blaster right now?

well im not sure right now cause I live in town and my blaster is over at my dads house in his garage but im going to go over there in the morning and look I just hope i can get that leak fixed someone told me earleir that there isnt a gasket between the two cases but on that sit you just gave me it look like in the diagram i was looking at there is a gasket in between them but i may have been looking at the wrong thing not real sure
