Ok, here's the challenge. My 2002 Blaster is stock, and I wanted to add a few mods to make it more suited for woods riding, but my budget is limited to say $750. (Less if possible)
Here's the run down:
I figure I'll start with all the misc missing bolts and nuts to see where I am with the brakes and levers. Then I was going to decide whether I wanted to rip it down to bare frame and A-arms and have them powder coated or just primer/paint them. The powder coating will eat the majority of my funds.
Where would you start?
Here's the run down:
- My tires are ok for now. Right rear has a slow leak, but I think it's the bead or valve stem. I've got to look into it.
- The suspension is OK, but could use a bit of freshening up. I'm looking into banshee/400ex components.
- The plastic and seat are in good shape. Maybe a seat cover down the road.
- The engine runs pretty strong. No complaints
- The brakes are crap. I think it's because of the minor issues of no adjusters and no mounting bolts.
- The lighting is crap due to cut wires on the socket, and no bulb. I'll replace with OEM for now, then upgrade later.
- The frame where your legs rub and the fronts of the A-arms are worn to bare steel and beginning to surface rust.
