Well recently bought a 1990 blaster for 500 and its in great shape......love the two stroke nothing like it lol. I know it has a stock exhaust and air filter. My one question is I was on the trail next to the road by my house and my buddy on his motorcycle raced me on the road while I was on the dirt and he said I hit 42 mph when we got done. Now I was only in third gear, do you really only gain 10 to 13 mph since stock is around 50 55 in the last three gears? Basically could there be internal mods done to this thing or is that all you get last three gears

Blasty gears are really short, you shift through them pretty fast. Speed is best determined by rear tire size and gearing. Stock gearing is 13 teeth front and 40 rear.

with 22" tires. heres a gearing calcuator u can use to determine your speed. just rember, ur more then likley to eaither being going slower because of jetting arodynamics....etc.... also ass u gear it to go faster, u loose torque and vise versa....
