New to forums & have a new blaster

Since he is gonna be tearing into this and putting it back together he will have to eventually end up where I am with my new blaster.. aka Skeeter killer!

The oil seal was bad when I bought it.. so after reading all you guys post elsewhere on here I gave it a whirl. So I put the new oil seal in behind the crank clutch side. I fired her up and no smoke well normal healthy 2 stroke amount!! Buddy and I so proud naturally I wanted to test it out and before I made it around the block the seal blew again so my questions and admission of wingING it..

I use alot of grease behind the bearing?
Can't say the collar looked brand new!?
Might have put a little to much oil in?
And is there a break in procedure for a new seal???

No break-in, excess grease wouldn't cause it, I fill all my seals with grease.
Things that may be wrong with your installation.
Seal in backwards, set to deep (only goes flush) damaged during installation, didn't seal collàr to crank with Threebond., didn't install keeper on seal.

No sir didn't use three bond and the keeper I take it is the brass thing that is held in with Phillips screw.. I did bend it a little didn't seem flush when I went to reinstall it was bowed out 7mm or so.. I bent it so it's almost touching.. does the collar spin around the seal? I might have put a little too much oil in also?

Excess oil wouldn't cause it to be burnt, might push some out vent tube.
Doesn't always leak at the collar, it's just become practice around here to seal it to the crank. Because Banshees tend to leak at the keyway, I seal both on both machines.
Seal keepers I've seen are bare sheet metal. I use loctite on the screw.
Have you done a leakdown test?

Haven't done a leak down but it had noticeable more compression and less wheezing sound.. I greased the collar and shaft!! Ha hopefully it didnt destroy the seal and I can salvage this lil beast the love hate relationship continues.. no oil in the case on stator side btw...
Thanks for your help
