Hello everyone. I just got a 99 blaster and it's in pretty good shape. The brakes suck and don't work at for crap. I've been trying to find a shorty cable but come up empty. I would like to convert to hydro is someone has a setup for sale. I also need new back tires. Any suggestions? What else should I do to it? I'm not sure how the oil works? Is there a pump or does it flow automatically? The guy I bought it from said it would just mix 50:1 and fill the gas tank and fill the oil tank. Thanks guys. Love it so far.[/COLOR]

32:1 is the recommended ratio for any 2 stroke under 200ccs.

It is a major no no to run premix whilst the oil injection is still in operation you will run gas lean if the motor has not been jetted to suit.

Before you ride It would pay to leak test the motor to avoid any nasty surprises.

He didn't take it out. He said he didn't trust them so he did both. Sounded like a little overkill. Where is the pump located? Thanks

Theres a pump for the oil.
I have a shorty cable, but its probably your brakes themselves that arnt working, Awk sells a nice set for about $180 i think.

If he said to mix the gas, you will need to make sure the pump was removed properly.

As for tires, i suggest these Dunlop Quadmax Sport Radial ATV Tire | Tires and Wheels | Rocky Mountain ATV/MC

Yeah sounded weird to me at the time. He made it seem like it was still functioning. How do I perform the leak test? Thank you.

If he has been running oil in the gas then he could have damaged the piston from running a lean AFR!

The pump is located in the gearcase cover.

You need to check if the oil injection is still operational, it may have air in the lines.

Do not tempt providence, do not ride until you have checked out all the possible problems.
