Hey guys, Im new to this forum. Just bought a Blaster and it needs work. It runs like a champ, but the body platics are a little rough and the brakes dont work. Pretty much, it dont stop. The guy I bought it from said it was either a 1996, 97, or 98. He didnt have a title, owners manual, or any other paperwork. Is there anyway to identify what year the bike is? Also I found a webite, (bikebandit.com) that sells OEM parts and has schematics for everything, so that'll help when I go to fix the problems this thing has. All I want to do is fix the plastics and get the brakes working. Id like to ride it on some local trails and be able to stop lol. So, my question is, are these parts interchangable for these model years? I need a new clutch/brake cables, exhaust, front tires, all new brakes front and rear, and plastics. All replies are greatly appreciated. Thanks, Boydo

every blaster 88-06 has aftermarket parts that are interchangeable, just depends on your wallet lol, take a look around the forum at some other guys blasters, you'll get ideas on what you'll want to shoot for, and a good site is here or rockymountainatvmc.com for parts, or ebay

welcome!

for exhaust it all depends on where you ride, and how you ride, do you have a lot of open areas that your wide open throttle, or sharp corners and places you need torque, torque areas you should get an fmf, good lowend pipe, more top end would be a toomey ( i also run) and for bigger modded motors go for a CPI, F7 Dynoport

thanks guys. one more question. would you all recommend maier usa plastics or OEM plastics. the maier plastic is a little cheaper but how does it fit? i dont want it to be a struggle to get em to fit.
