Hello all!

My daughter has a 2000 Blaster (200cc) that was running and driving fine. Stopped for 5 minutes and it hasn't run since. She tells me it popped once like it was going to start but noting since. I put a new plug in and verified it had spark, drained the bowl, put in a new air filter and still nothing. It was running and idling smooth before this. It makes me wonder if the switch ir something electrical is going on. Has anyone heard of this or something similar?? I need to figure this out as my daughter is selling this to help pay closing costs on her first house.

Thanks in advance for all your help!

Greg

What he said , anytime I find something doesn't run right I pour some gas manually right in the carb , kick it an see if it starts like that , I've got a spare carb laying around I was going to do a video on cleaning a carb for the diy section lemme know if that would help you out

Thanks for the quick response. A video of cleaning the carb would be awsome. I don't know much at all about these ATVs so I'll take all the help I can get! I:I

While you have the carb off, go ahead and removed the intake and check the reeds also. If it popped it could have broken a reed petal.

P.s his video he shows were the main and pilot jet are , remove them both an spray through center of the jets with an aresol can carb cleaner , Wd40 , Brake clean any one of those will work , the main jet you should be able to see through when it's clean , granted your not blind , the pilot jet is smaller and hard to see through but held up to the light you should be able to see light through it , Watch your eyes spraying them out , not fun if you get yourself , clean an replace , check your floats make sure they don't stick when you turn the carb upside down An put everything back as it was , Also be careful removing the cap from the carb off , they have tiny threads and are really easy to strip , also it spring loaded in there remove the top slowly nothings gonna go flying on you ( at least it shouldn't ) but just to keep in mind

It is definately the carb. Sprayed some gas in it and it fired right up for a few seconds then would die. I reviewed the DIY post on the carb cleaning and it all seems fairly straight forward. The only thing that worries me is the removal of the jet. I will pay close attention to the number of turns it takes to remove it and do my best to reverse the process. :D

With a little luck it will be running tomorrow night.... work schedule permitting of course.

Second Brandoz , secondly , jet tightness or turns is irrelevant , just make sure it secure removing the carb an cleaning it shouldn't take someone with no knowledge more than 15-20 , give yourself a half hours time tops to see how everything goes , it won't be the last time you'll have to do this , lastly , when you put the slide back into the carb it only goes one way , looking from the rear of the carb ( rear will be with the choke to the left side) the slide should sit close to the bottom , with just enough room to slide a penny or 2 in the opening , on the choke side of the carb there is a flat head screw that's your fuel air mixture screw tighten all the way down an then reverse it (counterclockwise)1 1/2 turns , also turn your fuel tank to reserve insure you have gas ( preferably premixed 32:1 93 octane , 87 goes bad quickly) and make sure both the front of the carb and rear sitting in the bike are secure , dump gas in like you did before and let mr know what you get , if it runs fine from there were all set if it doesn't stay running let me know I'll try an help from that , I bought another blaster I'll be working on tom , so if you dig in an get stuck I'll be around to help answer questions , my cell # will be in your private messages

I followed the clean your carburator post in the DIY section and cleaned out the carb. I flushed out the gas tank and put in fresh 93 octane gas. Tried to start with no success. Spray som starting fluid in the carb and it fires up like a champ but only for a second or two. I disconnected the TORS per Brandon's suggestion, thanks for all the help!!. Tried starting again but no go. The gas is flowing from the tank to the carb some gas is leaking from the short tube that is next to the choke. I am out of ideas at this point... any suggestions???

I ordered some new reeds today but they won't be in until Friday. I am going to take the carb off again tonight and go back through it again. I have new gaskets now so we'll see if it makes a difference.

Try checking your float level. Im pretty sure that line your talking about is an overflow from the bowl on the bottom. If the float has been damaged or is at the wrong level then it will leak out. Hope this helps.

Well I took the carb off again tonight. I checked the reeds again and cleaned the carb again. One side of the reeds had about a 1/16 to 1/8 inch gap so at the suggestion of a friend I flipped it over and got a nice seal. Tried starting it again but still no go. I opened the bowl drain and no gas drained out. Any ideas???

check if the fuel filter is clogged if you have one. also if gas is coming out if the vent line, the fuel level is missed up so check the float. maybe its pilot jet is clogged?
