Hey guys, what's up? I just picked up a well used 1994 Blaster. Got for a really good deal, not running but complete. Engine has had a recent topend rebuild, .04 over piston, some other stuff that I can't remember now. :-/

I got it so cheap my intent was to tear it up and build a gokart for my son, but when we got it home I think it is too complete and nice to do that to it. I cleaned up the carb tonight and got it running, gotta adjust the idle, but I think it'll run good. Going to take it for a drive tomorrow hopefully.

Needs a lot of cosmetic work, but I'll fix it up nice. :D

There it is in all its glory.

Sweet! Looks like you got some work ahead of you. Looks like a good starting point. Blasters are what you make of them. I'm starting to like the blaster I built for the wife better than my kx250.

It is actually in pretty good shape and was maintained, but cosmetically it is rough

I grew up on a Honda Fourtrax 250, haven't had a quad in years and I am already excited about having this one.

Oh, and I forgot how much I like the sound of a two stroke, makes me miss my old dirtbike.

My dad gave me money for Xmas and I bought a blaster. I have no idea how to take care of it. It is in great shape. The guy I bought it from says that it's a 1999. What gas/oil should I use? What oil should I use? Have never owned a 4 wheeler before and want to take good care of it, please help with any info you can!

Welcome,

It would be a good idea to start your own thread listing the mods that you know of, and peeps will then offer some info.

Thanks guys. I am going to paint the frame, wheels and all neon green and the fairings in matte black. :) Going to do something nice with the seat too, my mom started a business doing sewing so she's going to make a seat cover for me. I have a business rebuilding and selling cars/wheeled things and selling car parts, so who would have thought our businesses would come together.

Blaster = family fun.

lol

Well, I took the carb apart and cleaned it up really well. The adjusted the TORS way down and it idles awesome. I drove it around the neighborhood and it runs so good. The brakes are completely dead, no brakes at all. Gotta fix that before I go any further. Haha.

If its a 99 I believe they are drum front disk rear.....the rears are a pain....must remove front hubs and check the lil shoes if u got meat try adjusting wing nut on cabe and see wut ya got

while you have front apart clean any rust out of drum, deglaze shoes with sandpaper, lube with caliper grease or maybe white lithium, use spareingly

It is a 94, so front drum rear disc. I looked at it last night and the fronts defintiely need replacing. The one wingnut is fully adjusted and the other is barely turned, springs look like crap. The cable for the rear is damaged as well, looks like I have plenty of pad left so I think it is just a cable problem.
