By running the chain more parallel to the swingarm, instead of at an angle, the AMP Research LINK eliminates the vertical forces transmitted to the swing arm. Without an angle between the chain and the swing arm, the forces generated by the motor are purely horizontal with no vertical components. No vertical forces mean (A) no frame lift and (B) no rigid connection between the frame and rear wheel.
