O.K. here goes. I just got a stock 03 Blaster. I posted a couple pictures in the introduction section.

First thing I want to do is get rid of the stock wheels and tires. I have found a guy selling his stock 07 Raptor wheels and tires. Perfect shape a few rides on them. He wants 150 bucks for them. Then I will buy some rear hubs off ebay.

Or I can go with original plan and buy the wheels and tires that I really want.

What do you guys think about settling for the Raptor 660 wheels for the 150 plus price of hubs?

One problem with buying a stock machine is the exhaust, tires, nerf bars and price of quad add up fast. So was thinking for 150 I am good. Can always get what I want later.

Well I figure the rear Raptor tires are wider and not as tall. They make the blaster much more stable. The aluminum wheels are also better, not as good as aftermarket. I think I will get them. Worse case I get the ones I want in a few months and put screws in the raptor tires for winter.

You're right, the raptor tires are not as high which ends up giving you less ground clearance which isn't a big deal if you are on a motocross track but you want all the clearance you can get for woods riding. If I were you I would buy a set of 20" Maxxis Razr's or ITP Holeshot HD's. If you want a tire to be able to put screws into for winter riding I would recommend ITP Mud Lites because they are a hard compound and there is more to drill into than the stock raptor Dunlops. I wouldn't recommend putting screws in Holeshots or Razr's due to such a soft rubber compound.
