ok so im still pretty new to the blaster thing. I have a 94 with vforce reeds, reed spacer, k&n filter and prewrap and i got a 30mm carb for it. I also removed the tors and oil injection so i run premix 32:1. i just had an extened axle put in by a friend and some other stuff so i havent had the chance to run it yet with all the new stuff on. well when it hits powerband hits hesitates and just falls on its face any ideas?? the carb came prejetted along with other jets they had the biggest in already and i put the smallest in and it didnt even make a difference it acts the same? so anybody if you have a clue please help me out. thanks

have you removed the reed cage or anything? if so when you put it back on you might have gotten an air leak you need to seal that up real good before you start jetting. what jet's are you running. what number?

I would have to guess its in the jetting.
But to help those who are much smarter than me you should do a compression test and a leak down test and post the results. There's a link to making and using a leak tester in my sig below. vvvvvv
Also have you done a plug chop yet? Again, link in sig if you need more info on that. vvvvv

yea i removed the stock and put the new vforce one in and as far as jets i can get them later cause my buddy has it at his house. we went to the drag strip and i left it on his truck afterward. but im like 100percent sure that its a pretty tight around the reed cage but if ti wasnt an air leak would cause it to act like that??

yea i could try the plug chop but i can probably do the other one too ill have to get ahold of my friend he probably has the right stuff to do it

ok also i have a full fmf system. but anyway the first jets that were in main=152 and the secondary=45
the ones i put in main=148 the secondary=40
no the other ones i have are a 150 and a 42. now they both feel super crapy and i also move the retainer clip up and down on the main neddle that really didnt even help i mean it did alil bit but not enough to fix it so its back in the where it should be in the middle. so if any body knows anything i will appericate comments and things i should do. and i will do the plug chop when i get some more plugs but untill then any help and also what should my A/F ratio be like how many rotations should i adjust the screw too?

Build a leakdown tester and check for air leaks FIRST THING. Also I noticed you didn't have very many mods, you may actually not be able to jet that 30mm carb down enough to get it to run right. you even sure its a 30mm? that is a pretty good sized carb, even for a blaster with heavy mods most only go up to like a 28mm.

Do you have the lid on the airbox? Is the fuel good? If moving the needle around helped then its probobly a jetting deal. Have you got a way to measure the float height? What carb is it? Also be sure your fuel vent line isn't clogged up. We can rule one thing out at a time till it runs like a top! Haha

yea the lid is still on and the fuel is brand new its 93 the mix is 32:1 and yea it seemed like it helped but not sure? and i have a clear vent tube so i can see whats going on. and idk how to measure the float height??

If at all possible I would remove the lid then see how it does. I have seen people have trouble getting the jetting right with the lid on for some reason once they start modifying the engine. Not to mention it is a good power increase. I would give u a link to measuring float height but I'm on my phone so try google search and you will find what you need to check it. I have got new carbs that were off especially oko carbs.

ok well i pulled the lid and it ran great till it hit like 5th towards the powerband then it started acting funny. no it dosent want to start. i checked spark and it is very faint so i switched out my cdi box and still very faint spark and im not sure but it dosent seem like its getting enough fuel now?? its not flooded the plug was dry and i was tryinjg to kick it over for like 5 mins. any new ideas haha

well i have the 150 and 42 in now but i think im going to bump up to the next size again and see how it works without the lid on. cause i got it running and if you slowly and i mean slowly get into the throttle it will run but as soon as you hit the gas hard it like bogs down so im not sure if it needs more fuel or less fuel but im going to try more fuel. ill let you know what happens or you guys have better ideas let me know

Sounds like reed problem with bad throttle response. Chances are after removing the lid you need a bit more fuel. I would even go 2 or 3 sizes larger with the main and see how it acts.

O man your so close to getting your new carb setup properly why are you gonna give up now? A dyno jet kit may have the right jets you need to get it jetted properly but its not anything special. Point is when its jetted right its jetted right. I don't know what all the kit comes with or how much it is but buying only the jets you need is probobly cheaper and just as effective.
