I just got the top and bottom end rebuilt. It was broken in properly and runs great. The quad started missing a couple gears here and there. I thought I was just not shifting right. Well the problem got worse and now I only have a couple gears left. I dont know which ones they are, but they only engage sometimes. When I oush down on the shifter, I can go down as many clicks below first gear without stopping. The clutches do work when I get it into a gear, and the shifter is not loose which I was hoping was the problem.

you can shift below 1st gear dude check ur shifting star mine did the same thing and it ended up being that my shifting star came loose and the keyway cameout so that i had no gears at all then grabbed one and it shattered the shaft on the drum but i got it to work so ywa chck that too

where is the shifting star? Do I have to go inside the bottom end, or is it where the clutches are?

I found the shifting star. It is tight and not brolen. How many friction and pressure plates should I have. There seems to be a lot of excess room in the clutch basket, like I coulb have one more pressure and friction plate.

http://http://www.rydindirty.com/blastermanual.pdf make sure the marks on the clutch basket and clutch boss are lined up! just take it apart check it out, and go step by step with the manual putting it back together! hope this helps, the link is to the Blaster (YFS200) Real Yamaha Shop Manual in the DIY section!
