I got my blaster down, and finally got a good look at it. Overall the plastics are in good shape, and so is the frame. The only real rust spots on the frame are in front of the pegs, probably where your knees would be. Other then that the frame looks really good. I figured why not try and save time and money and just sand and paint the bad rust spots. But how hard and how long is it to strip down a frame, get all the wires off and everything, and then put it back together? If its gonna take a long time and be a pain, then most likely ill try and just touch up the spots where the paint wore off. I think the hardest part will be getting all of the wires off, then putting everything back the right way in the right spot. But im just wondering if it will be hard and time consuming.

it would be worth it.
you are rebuilding the whole thing anyways, it will look sh*tty if you dont pay some attention to the frame
i recommend powdercoating it

Yeah, i would like to do it all but im afraid that ill have so much crap lying around, and ill mess up the wiring. I would like to get it powder coated but i dont know of any place to do it. Im just gonna blast it and spray paint it. And paint the plastics.

And just another little question, more of a prefrence. What paint scheme do you guys like better. Silver frame, orange plastics. Maybe paint the hood and tank silver. Or orange frame and silver plastics. My 2 favorite colors are orange and silver, and cant decide what will look better.

its not hard at all. i fully took mine apart in 2 hours. that was labeling and taking pictures, and everything. the only thing that was hard to do was to knock out the axle out of the carrier, and get the the two axle nuts off. if you do rebuild it, have a plan and know what your going to do. if you dont have a clymer repair manual, i suggest getting one. there about 20-25 bucks but it is all worth it. make sure you just seperate stuff. and don't rush! if your nearly done and your waiting for a 10 dollar part, dont try and rig something up because that 10 dollars that you didnt spend could lead to a few hundred dollars in damage. hope this helps!

Im buying another blaster for 1k. Its in great shape from the pics. It has a red frame, shocks, seat, hood, and tank cover. The rest of the plastics are white, and the a arms are silver. I dont like that paint scheme, but the guy said it was recently repainted, so if its in good shape im leaving it. If it gets scratched up and starts rusting, then ill probably see if i can get it powdercoated, and paint the plastics. But i think if i did it i would go with orange frame, silver plastics, and maybe some orange accents. it would be one of a kind, and i think it would look nice. But until further notice im selling my current blaster. If i do keep it, and decide to fix it up some day ill try out the color combos.

wiring isnt hard like blasterboy794 said label the wires as you unhook them an it should only take about 3 hours to strip the whole bike other than the motor axle an such

89custom i agree with you dude...but if someone sees your blaster and likes that color scheme then shouldnt you be proud of that?? Also it very well could be his favorite color man....i mean i dont like the orange but maybe he does....dont get all pissed off about...he likes it...u should be proud of it....just chill.
