need a little help

i was gana go ridin the other day just snow and then it started to melt then froze again so i wanted to go have fun on the ice so i kicked it once with the choke fired right up when in to get my helmet and motor was still warm and everything tried to start it wouldnt start checked the plug wasnt that bad but i og ta new one anyway put it in still wont start sounds the same as my brothers did when it wasnt geting spark how do i check the spark and does anyone else have any other ideas of wat it could be

pull the plug, put the wire on it, hold the plg threads against the head to ground it, hold ny the wire, with gloves on, or with insulated pliers, so ya dont get zapped, and have someone kick it for you, you should see it sparking, if not, gonna have to start checkin connections, the ground wire near the coil, all plug in connectors, kill switch, ignition ??????
