So basically i switched from amsoil interceptor to klotz r50 cuz the interceptor boggs when mixed at 32:1.
Anyways i rejetted and landed at a 280 stock pilot and middle needle clip, iv got prociruit exhaust, no lid and .20 over.
The bike will bogg and if i pull in the clutch i can only save it hafl the time, it just dies. It happens most when im just cruzing through the trails, its like i have to rev it out to clear its throught to say. Is this 280 to rich causing this?
Is this simply a fouled plug? I looked at the plug today and it looks pretty good. Btw im using a br9eya plug cuz my local shop says its an anti fouling plug and that it uses less electricity to generate a spark. But i thought the 9 means it uses more electricity than the b8es?
Im using it for trails this year so it needs to be real reliable.

what does a plug chop say for the main jetting ?
has it been leakdown tested ?
are the reeds in good shape ?
air filter clean ?

and tell them A-holes at that shop to stick that b9 yada yada plug....... run a b8es. period
you cannot see a fouled 2 stroke plug, oil gets up in between the porcelien and electrode, causing it to fire internally
change the plug...b8es !!!!!!

ohh man leak down test was the last thing i wanted to hear haha. i tried the plug chop but it was my first time so it didnt go so well. but the 280 is good cuz i had a 290 and it wouldnt rev up too nice so the 280 should be a bit rich. It was running befor with a 270 so i think im good jetting wise. and reeds are like new i think there only a year old and filter is good

and reeds are like new i think there only a year old

brand spanking new reeds can crack/chip/break
as well as a brand new plug can foul instantly

main jetting sounds close, if it's leakproof !

The br9eya plug is too cold in range to efficently burn deposits and will foul more readily than the recommended B8ES.

You say it boggs , which is caused by a lean mix, but then you say you have to rev it up to clean it out, which points to a rich mix. I is a bit confused.

Have you checked the float level?

You need to do a few tests!

Get a B8ES in there. Check the float level.

Leak down test, and if it passes, plug chop and get the jetting right.

well now that i think about it a couple months a ago i had the reeds out and had to make my own gasket between the reeds and the jug, i used a kinda crapy corck gasket maker. would that poisble leak creat these problems?

That corky gasket stuff can sqish and cause the reed block to distort if you have the bolts torqued up a bit tight.

One way to tell if it is leaking is to leak down test it.

Im gonna buy one eventually but at the moment i just need to do evrything i can without cuz like i said i got a big trip comming up, and from what u guys are saying it feels like the plug is the problem. cuz when i attempted my plug chop i was using the
b8es plug and it ran supper smothe, then again i was goin full tilt for a plug chop.

Big trip with the Blaster? Kind of counter productive. Fix it right or possibly be dissapointed on your trip, your choice. At the very least get the right gasket and plug in it.

ya thats what im doin today, im just making the point that if i ordered one it wouldn't get here till next week and im goin on a big ride this week. Ill get some good ride time to report back today.

Well get the plug and consider making a new gasket with paper gasket material or resealing what you have, tho it will probably go to $hit when you pull it apart.

I used almost the same matereal that boysen sells what i used was half ruber half paper and was nice and thin. so now iv just gotta pick up some plugs.

Btw the reeds look amazing and sit perfectly flat. While i had the reeds out i managed to stick my head up the ass of my quad to look at the piston trought the intake ports and the piston has zero carbon on the sides(lovin the r50!), couldnt see the top though and the rings look good but ill probably do them next year.

ok so i changed the gasket and put in but the shop only had br8es which are pretty much the same as b8es right? anyways rode it and it died on me triwce, i will just be riding then Blaaaaaaahhh dead. When it is running its a bit stumbly when accelorating like its rich. Everytime it dies i touch the head pipe and its really hot, cant even touch it for a second.
It feels like its rich but overheating like its lean? Im gonna have to buy a leak down tester.
So what is this leak down test gonna tell me if it fails besides money? Can a leak down test also tell compression? The motor feels like it has decent commpression, i can turn it over with my hand and feels like a solid 40 pounds of pressure to turn it over.

So the b8es is the correct plug, you have proved that.

br8es is ok to run, and you have the added bonus that you can listen to an interference free radio whilst riding.:)

Now do a leak down test to prove you have an air leak.

I would be looking at the boot to see if there are any cracks.

By the way, do a leak down test before the big ride, or you may be catching the bus home.

Ya the big ride is in hold till i get the quad running good. I hope its just a head gasket or something if its leaking.

I just had the carb out to check the float level when i noticed that on the airbox side of the carb at the bottom there is an empty hole and looks like some sort of srew would belong in there and there is scratch marks like someone took it out with a screwdriver?

Just found this i know its not a blaster but this is exactly what is happening to me but after like 20 min. In the comments a guy said his would die after about 20 minutes of riding too.

Should i just replace my stator and coil?
thanks
