i was riding for about 5 min when all of a sudden the motor reved up and stayed running, i hit the kill switch, nothing happened, so i pulled off the plug wire and it stayed running. finally i pulled the choke and it finally died. it was running with the kill switch in the off position for 30 seconds. i have no idea what it could be?? i have a fmf fatty pipe, dg silencer, boysen reeds, cylinder ported, 290 main jet, needle in the 3rd position. the tors is disconnected. i am stumped here. hope someone can help!:(

haha thats funny sh*t. it must have got to a point where it was running off compression. no idea what it could be, but does it run now?

that is pretty curious. what octane gas were you running? if it was 87, it could be that the porting increased compression and the lower octane gas was detonating......

when i finally got it shut off, i let it cool down for 10 min.
and it starts fine. i would like to change something as i dont want this happening again. i think the main jet might be too small causing the motor to run lean. its is a 290 main jet.

check for a air leak somewhere

+1 for that.
Could be massive over-heating too.

I blew a crank seal on the flywheel side and my motor reved to the moon. Nothing helped- kill switch, even puttin on the choke didn't. Pretty scary :(
I finally pulled the fuel line in a pinch and she eventually died.

i took a look at the crank seal and there was gas on the seal. i am thinking it should be completly dry??? the seal is brand new. it was a Winderosa seal, has anybody had bad luck with these? there is a grouve where the seal rides on the crank, next seal i am not going to push it all the way in so it rides on non-grooved part of the crank.

yo sh*t i didnt realize how many people this happened too. i try to stall the f*cker out. put it up a bunch of gears then slam the breaks. would that even work?
