Miss fire only in high gear

Okay so my dad was riding on a 2000 yamaha blaster and when he gets into the higher gears it miss fires and it only does it in the high gears any ideas?

Check the connections on the coil, cdi etc. for starters.
Wouldn't hurt to clean them.

well from what the person said that we bought it from its .30 over and thats really about it and it has a newer exuast. thats really about it and the other day we were riding and it stalled and he started it and it wont go it was stuck and it would not shift into any other gears but we got it and then every time he would down shift it would back fire only when he down shifted that day...

stat with a compression tester..
