So this is for all of you who are curious about what im doing. lol

For starters this is an 89 blaster that i got off a friend a couple of yrs ago. I helped him redo the top end before i got it ( a ring folded over and marred the cyl. wall) and we rode the piss out of it.

So far all that has been done to it is several top end rebuilds as it is .080 over, a shaved head and nerf bars.

The reason for wanting the frame up rebuild is a yr or so ago i was doing a wheelie in not the best spot and when i dropped back down i hit a tree and bent the frame :( With that being said the frame needs straightened and a set of rings are my main two focus points as of now.

Here are some pics of it as of now. I started taking pictures after i had the plastics tore off.

Yeah. I know. Lol it pulls pretty bad. Haha the funny thing is the bumper (which is what I hit the tree with) doesn't have a dent nor did it break any of the bolts holding it to the frame.

Not bad man great thing about the blaster is u can prob pick up a frame or another blown up one dirt cheap on Craigslist that is if u can't fix that frame

Yeah I've already gotten a parts bike lined up. I'm hoping that with a little heat and some persuasion i can get it back close to straight.

I wouldn't try to fix the frame. Once you heat up the frame it gets slightly weaker and more prone to cracking. I would just start with a fresh frame just so you have peace of mind ya know?

Wy not just use the frame? Like Yamaha28 said, peace of mind.

And looks like you got some big working space, I'm pretty jealous. I have a cookie cutter house garage. A blaster takes up have my space, sad really. Lol

ive thought about using the other frame but I found out this morning that I'm not getting that parts bike. The dude wanted waaay too much for it. I want try to fix the frame for a couple of reasons. 1 I have a title for that frame and 2 I like a good challenge and I have access to acetylene torch and a small "port-a-power" and plenty of steel.

Yeah. It's nice. What you see there is only about 1/3 of it. Lol I only have 2 doors but I can get 3 cars in with plenty of room to spare. :)

I finally got out to the garage as its been averaging 20F outside the past couple of weeks I've gotten the front suspension off completely and will be taking it to work where I'll sand blast it and powder coat it. I plan on gettin new cables and shoes for the front brakes since its cheaper.

I cant say this with 100% certainty because I've never done it personally, but I read somewhere that it s a bad idea to powdercoat the A-arms because the heat will damage the ball joints and they are none serviceable.

You read correctly, heat could damage the plastic inserts.

Well damn. Plastic inserts huh?? That's a good thing to know before I got too far into doing that. I had just assumed that they were metal all the way around and I was gonna pull the boots off when I painted them. Thanks guys!!

Man, throw some studs up, and you can easily insulate that place, roll or blown in.

Good progress on build. Cant wait to see finished product.
