LT250R VS. Tecate 4 going to get either one

I recommend the LT250R if its a late 87-92. Just make sure you drain the powervalve after every ride and slow kick it 5 times before railing on it to start it. The LT's were more popular.

I'd say LT250 too, mainly because they were much more popular and alot easier to get parts for. But imo if you are looking for a 250 for the track, I'd try to get a 250r.

man, all three great 2stroke 250's each unique in their own sense. IMO, the reliability and aftermarket support of the honda 250r is enought to make me lean towards it. But i hear you on the price thing, it seems everyon that has a nice one wants like 4 grand for it...

i have owned a tecate and i ride a lt250 quite a bit. I think that performance wise stock for stock the tecate was better, but then you run into the parts situation. You cannot find parts as easy for the tecate as you can the lt250s, but i loved my tecate and i wish i never would have sold it.

yo where is brownsburg? i wanna snipe that sh*t!!!!!! lol i would sell my blaster in a heartbeat for that thing. o yeah if u buy an LT u gotta get an aftermarket rod. ive heard the stock ones bend easy.

im an owner of both, but cant really compare the two. the tecate is all stock but for the pipe and carb, whereas the LT is widened, a/m carb, piped & ported. parts for the lt are more readily available and easier to come across than for the tecates. with that, parts for the LT are usually cheaper as they are more common. but if you wanna be different then go for the tecate, if i had the same setup on the tecate as the lt than im sure it would probably be faster and handle a bit nicer...
but for parts availability i say go with the lt as it would be cheaper to build up, plus for only $1000 thats a steal:o
