I have 1985 lt230s quadsport ended up popping chain and damaging the stator cover. Ordered a new one and installed it properly. When for a ride and suddenly it felt like the motor locked up. Tore head n cylinder off and seen that everything was in good shape. And that the piston wasnt the problem. Took off the newly installed stator cover to find out that the one i purchased was junk and it was brand new. Stator had came off the cover and wedged into the flywheel damaging the stator and fly wheel. Im having a heck of a time finding a new flywheel and stator. Should i go back on the company that i bought the cover from? U can clearly see the stator cover was the problem. And also is it ok to put new rings on the piston w out honing the cylinder?
